Abstract:

After a brief introduction in agent communication I will discuss a number of issues in agent communication that are under research.  The first issue will be that of semantics for ACL's.  Is it possible to give a useful semantics?  If so, how should it be specified?  Another issue is that of conversation protocols and policies.  How do we check compliance to a protocol? How do we match two protocols?  How do we incorporate a conversation in the planning of an agent?
