Abstract:
PAC is a system which we designed and built to experiment with intelligent
agents that also have personality. The emotional model we developed
interacts with the cognitive module of the agent to generate as well as
modify goals and behaviours. We describe the PAC system and its emotional
cognitive architecture. We also describe some work that used the
PAC system to generate some agents modelled on the Luxor Jnr animation.
This work was successful in that the agents were judged to be``believable''.
Engaging interesting behaviour was generated based on the emotional component
of the agents.
