Abstract:
A model of emotional agents is proposed, which integrates previous research
done on emotions, personality, communicative agents and emotional agents.
The model is examined by generating dialogue between two agents in an ``escape''
scenario. Their emotions are affected by their situation, personalities,
and the dialogue between them. People were surveyed to determine
whether they could estimate the agents' personalities from the dialogue
generated. The surveys indicate that the model created could be successfully
incorporated into an intelligent agent to produce more believable behaviour.
