Abstract:
Leon Sterling will give an update on the information agent research ongoing
at the University of Melbourne Intelligent Agent Lab. Specific topics
to be covered are intelligent concept extraction in the context of legal
documents on the WWW, finding sports scores and the `best' sporting city,
and automatic wrapper induction in the context of searching classified
ads.
He will also talk about the Agent technology Rapid Diffusion project
which has (finally!) been approved by the Government.
Biosketch:
Leon Sterling is Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer
Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
His current research focuses on information agents and agent shells, and
rapid prototyping of agents using logic programming technology under the
auspices of agent-based software engineering.
